Captains Named for the 2010 Cardinals

Not the kind of captain we were talking about

Thanks to Coach Jason Eck’s Twitter feed, the Cardinals captains for the coming season have been announced. Quale Lewis, Sean Baker, Davyd Jones, and Michael Switzer all have the honor of calling the coin toss and leading this team. Two on offense, two on defense… oh how equitable for you, Ball State.

Everyone knows about Quale, granted a 6th year, record smashing running back, from Ft. Wayne, yadda yadda yadda. Most who read this site know all about Sean Baker, since we’ve been lauding him and officially dubbed him “The SoulEater”. Davyd Jones is a senior linebacker from Muncie, who has tallied over 200 tackles in his career. Jones has played every year he’s been at BSU and started the last two. Switzer is entering his senior season as well, and the left guard from Indianapolis has had a productive career protecting the backfield and ensuring the offense clicks along. If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times… the offensive line is the most important group on the field.

Captains named, final scrimmage held, first day of school today in Muncie… we’re 10 wake ups away from the season opener and it absolutely cannot get here soon enough.
