Not that kind of captain.
It’s a rarity that anything not horse racing related could garner even a small bit of my attention on Oaks Friday. But, the race for the fillies isn’t for a couple of hours and there is still plenty of time for me to get good and soused for the Derby and admire how the women of the bluegrass can hang a sundress. So much time in fact, that we interrupt these cigar and bourbon infused minutes to bring you some breaking Ball State football news. Your 2014 Cardinals have captains!
Congrats to Jahwan Edwards, Ben Ingle, Brian Jones, Nick Miles and Jacob Richard who were named to the positions by Coach Pete Lembo today. CPL emphasized that these are exceptionally visible leadership roles and these guys are taking their place in a long line of impressive captains at BSU. It’s way more than calling heads or tails before kickoff, and outside of the coaching staff, probably no greater influence on the success of the season is exerted than that from the captains. Congrats to all and go Cards!
