The last thing I usually check is the weather for gameday. After living in Indiana for most of my life, the one consistent with the weather is if you don’t like the forecast, it probably isn’t correct anyway so there is no need to fret days in advance. Let’s all hope for tonight’s CMU contest, the forecasts are not correct, as it appears like monsoon season may have come early for the Muncie area. While we don’t have Indianapolis weather we are at, I can only imagine it would be something like this…
So if you’re going to the Scheu tonight, bring your poncho and some soup for Ollie. It’s been raining all morning, will continue raining all day, and may very well rain all game. The good news is BSU’s field is pretty good at draining and the field turf switchover from grass pays off in situations like this. I don’t expect a repeat of the GoDaddy Bowl but it’s going to be a wet one. More concerning is the wind, as that does limit the deep opportunities for Wenning. With sustained winds in the teens and gusts up to the low 20s, it may very well be a rush attack for both teams tonight which wet footballs can create a bit of an issue for.
If you’re a believer in omens, this isn’t a good one, as weather is usually the great equalizer when one team is significantly better and faster paced than the other. If you’re not a believer in omens then there’s nothing to see here. Move along. Remain calm. All is well.
