The MAC announced today that it had finalized the conference schedule, and thus, BSU’s schedule is now written in ink. From the BSU release…
The Mid-American Conference has announced the 2012 football schedule, which will include an ESPN2 game at Toledo and a nationally televised game vs. Ohio for Ball State.
The Cardinals will open the 2012 season with a MAC game vs. Eastern Michigan Thurs., Aug. 30, in Scheumann Stadium.
Ball State will then play the majority of its non-conference schedule in the next three games. The Cardinals will play at Clemson Sat., Sept. 8, at Indiana Sat., Sept. 15 and host South Florida Sat., Sept. 22. The South Florida game will be Family Weekend at Ball State.
After three weeks of non-league games, Ball State will travel to Kent State Sept. 29, and then host Northern Illinois Oct. 6, and Western Michigan Oct. 13. The Western Michigan contest will serve as the Cardinals 2012 Homecoming Game.
Ball State will complete the season with four of its last five games on the road. The Cardinals will play at Central Michigan, at Army and at Toledo before hosting Ohio Nov. 14, and ending the year at Miami University Fri., Nov. 23. The Toledo game is scheduled to be a Tues., Nov. 6 game televised nationally on ESPN2, while the Ohio contest will be a Wednesday 8 p.m. meeting and will be on either ESPN2 or ESPNU.
Ball State’s season finale at Miami University is a possible ESPN2/ESPNU televised contest.
Can’t say I’m thrilled with 4 out of 5 on the road to close the season out, but it does look like BSU will be seen plenty on the ESPN family. Mark your calendars accordingly, Card fans.
