Just a few short weeks ago, Kentucky sat at 2-0, with the fans again bubbling with optimism that perhaps the naysayer amongst us, who thought this would be a down year for Big Blue were members of an unneeded Pessimism Army. That dream of staking a place at the SEC upper echelon was quickly tamped down by the consecutive games against Florida and Alabama, the top two teams in the most recent CBSSports Blogpoll. Today we take a look at Auburn and UK. But admittedly… like most Kentucky fans are a bit distracted today.

There’s a football game of some sort which apparently has the audacity to compete with a basketball practice. How dare you football! I mean… Drake might be there. Who’s Drake? I have no idea, but Coach Cal tweeted about it to his tweeps so clearly he’s awesome. As is Calipari. And John Wall. John Wall is like the best player ever. I heard Michael Jordan saw Wall play and asked for an autograph. True story.

I think the important thing to remember in all of this is that while the attention the basketball team is generating is clearly pulling a little bit of drawing power and interest away from the football Cats, at least it’s for a decent reason and a celebration of a team long suffering under the BCG Reign O Terror. I mean, it’s not like our coach was taking a weekend trip to the skanktuary. OH!! Nailed it.
