The Night Before BG

Poetry? That makes me hungry.

Poetry? That makes me hungry.

Twas the night before BG, when all through the Scheu
the fans were hoping on Sunday, they’d no longer be blue.
The line-up’s been shuffled, and shaken with care
in hopes that better kicking and pass coverage soon would be there.
Stan Parrish was snuggled all warm in his bed,
While visions of victories danced in his head.
Stan had gameplanned with care, though his skin had grown thin
In hopes that the BG game would be his first win.
So much time had been given to his plan leaving nothing to chance
So much that his dream was the game in advance.
The running game deadful but hope was not gone
As Quale put his head down and showed BG his brawn.
Over, around, and straight over top
Quale rumbled and rolled, and never did stop.
Kelly Page found his rhythm and threw like a stud
Made that Bowling Green defense look like a dud
To Orsbon, to Gibson, to Trempe and Fakes
Made the defense look silly and make tons of mistakes.
The offensive line played their hearts out in fact
Kept Page’s jersey clean and him off his back.
The defense was dominant, energetic, and strong
Made tackles and big hits all afternoon long
Sheehan and Barnes met Pinkston and Baker
The latter’s three picks a clear game breaker
Eddins, and Perry, and Crawford… oh my
Sack after sack sent BG awry
The kicking game perfect and solid as ever
McGarvey or Schott? Didn’t matter… whoever!
Hogue and Kovanda were solid as well
At kickoffs and punting we clearly excel
4 quarters roll on each one as good as the last
Until zeros are shown and the fans storm the grass
Parrish has his first win since 1986
Maybe this stops the verbal stones and the sticks
Stan gathered the players and fans, and yelled with a Corso-esque “Yo!”
“Come next week and EMU we’ll have two in a row.”
Stan woke with a smile and a sense of purpose renewed
But knew with a loss he’d be 8 shades of screwed.

Official OTP Prediction:
BSU 34
BG 28
