Sports Illustrated has long been backsliding into obscurity as they essentially bring nothing of note or news to the table. They don’t really expose anything, don’t really have anything spectacular in the actual magazine, and apparently, delivery to my home is delayed for only that magazine. Let me check the mailbox… Hey!! Shaq just got traded!
So suffice to say Sports Illustrated isn’t something we peruse on a daily/weekly/ever basis. But just when I think it can get no worse… Sports Illustrated does something that totally redeems themselves! They’ve named Ball State’s MiQuale Lewis as the #9 non-BCS player in all of FBS. Good to see the human bowling ball get some love.
The text on MiQuale is:
The diminutive back (5-6, 193 pounds), is coming off a school record 1,736 yards and 22 touchdowns, but duplicating those numbers could be difficult as the Cardinals offense breaks in a new quarterback and four new starters on the line.
There’s also a great photo of Quale on the site (above, but go to the site… much better) with that trademarked “I’m going to leave cleat marks all across your punk ass as I bowl my way into the end zone” stare. Congrats to Quale. You should be able to check it out here.
The entire list is:
10. Jan Jorgensen, BYU
9. Quale
8. Rusty Smith, FAU
7. Antonio Brown, CMU
6. Colin Kaepernick, Nevada
5. Damian Fletcher, Southern Miss
4. Jimmy Clausen, Notre Dame
3. Dan LeFevour, CMU
2. Jerry Hughes, TCU
1. Max Hall, BYU
