For the rest of this week, OTP will be highlighting some new features at this here fancy schmancy new website in case you were having some trouble adjusting. If so, relax, deep breaths, and let go. Here’s the basics about the new site…
The Tabs at the Top
This is one of the most drastic features about this new website. Instead of Bloggerriffic simplicity, we were able to expand our reach a bit and fully enunciate our perspective on some key areas that will prove helpful as the year goes on.
First and foremost is your “Home” tab. That’s the tab that brings you back to the OTP front page. It’s sort of the parlor area/front door where most everyone should initially congregate. Whereas Blogger simply made you click on the site banner and you may not have even known you could do that, the “Home” tab is your beacon for OTPness. Live it… love it.
Also up top you’ll find an “About” page. That glorious page will clue you in to the basics of OTP. It’s got your site leadership, an FAQ of our most asked questions, and a general sense of who we are and why we do this. For those who often wonder “why?” when it comes to OTP, this is a good resource.
The third page up top is our “Ethics” page. That page is a insightful read about what to expect on the coverage you’ll receive, our ethics about the site, and the differences between us and the mainstream media type people. It also goes into detail about editing the site, editing the comments, and what to expect if you’re a visiting fan checking us out.
Last (for now) is our Top 25 page, where we’ll list our most recent Top 25 poll. We’ll be expanding more on that page when we release our Preseason Top 25 in August.
That’s our initial offerings. Tomorrow, we’ll touch base about our new blogroll, the OTP messageboard, and some general information about your OTP experience.
